Two cool places in Europe
I'm happy to announce a special photography workshop scheduled from April 13th - 26th, 2027 in Europe. Croatia is a very unique and stunning country for photography and we will be visiting some of my favorite locations from Dubrovnik to Split. For a travel photographer like us, the light bouncing off the Adriatic is absolutely magical, especially at golden hour.
After 10 fun days exploring places in places in Croatia we will head to the airport in the town of Split and fly over to venice Italy Venice, Italy. Whether you've been to Venice before or it might be your first time, it's hard to even describe the photo opportunities and the absolute I candy in every direction in this magical place.
Venice is where I asked my wife to marry me and I can never get tired of being in this one of a kind city in the magical country of Italy. Combining one incredibly fun and photogenic workshop in Croatia with the stunning beauty of Venice will make for one pretty cool a small hand a small handful of people.

Magical Dubrovnik

Croatia is Vibrant
The Adriatic Coastline The Dalmatian Coast is simply breathtaking — crystal-clear turquoise water, dramatic cliffs, and over a thousand islands. From historic cities with cobblestone streets to immaculate islands encircled by glistening waters, the country has something to offer everyone.
The Kingdom of Croatia was established around 925 AD meaning Croatian statehood goes back roughly 1,100 years. As a modern independent nation, Croatia declared independence from Yugoslavia on June 25, 1991 and the juxtaposition of old and new is everywhere.
Our photographic adventure starts in the bottom of Croatia in the one of a kind town of Dubrovnik. Within the giant walls of the old city is something that you have to see to believe. It is absolutely one of my favorite cities on earth.
We will venture up the coast to a couple of islands by ferry that are just gorgeous and end up in the town of Split. This will be a stunning road trip through a pretty special country that you will leave with a lot of pretty cool memories.
Nowhere like Venice
Why do people love Venice?
It defies logic — a city built on water, on wooden piles driven into a lagoon over a thousand years ago, that somehow still stands. Just existing there feels like a miracle of human will and ingenuity.
No cars, no noise — the silence is profound compared to most cities. You hear water lapping, gondoliers calling, footsteps on stone. For modern travelers, that sensory shift is almost disorienting in the best way.
It's genuinely irreplaceable — Venice looks like nowhere else on Earth. Every canal, every crumbling palazzo, every reflection in the water is unique. There's a reason painters, poets, and photographers have been obsessed with it for centuries.I am not sure if there is anywhere more beautiful on earth than the exquisite beauty of Venice, Italy.
From the photogenic canals that are intertwined throughout this floating city to alleyways where you are guaranteed to get lost to the best food on earth.
Two Special Countries
Literally across the water from each other, both of these countries are paradise for photography. Venice is less a city and more a living painting that somehow never repeats itself. Photographically, it rewards the early riser enormously.
Waking early to shoot, the city belongs entirely to us — mist rising off the water, empty bridges, gondolas bobbing silently in the dark. The iconic Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco become genuinely intimate at that hour rather than the tourist spectacles they become by midday.
Croatia offers something completely different but equally stunning. Think dramatic coastal cliffs, impossibly turquoise Adriatic water, and medieval walled cities that look carved from the limestone they sit on. In a single country you get Roman ruins, medieval walled cities, UNESCO national parks, island villages, cascading waterfalls, and some of the most beautiful water color in the world.
This workshop will be a mixture of both and the photo ops will be often and pretty amazing. I will be helping everyone, everyday with their photography and we will leave with some fantastic memories.
Cost
The workshop cost is $8,450 and will include stunning hotels in Croatia and in Venice. I have stayed in every hotel and chose them for many reasons but especially their perfect locations in each city. Breakfast is included in the hotels. Ferries from Dubrovnik to Korcula, Korcula to Hvar and Hvar to Spilt are also included. Taking a ferry from island to island is my favorite way to travel to these super cool islands.
The single supplement fee will be $1,150 for your own room. The workshop does not include: the cost for the short flight from Split to Venice which is not expensive (approx. $225) and has to be booked by each person individually. Also not included are taxis and buses that we will be taking once in a while.
Photo ops everywhere
I will be helping everyone understand the best ways to capture this amazing country and work with each person individually on their photography. My guide is very knowledgeable and one of the best in India and I pretty much have everything nailed down perfect for 2025.
I have been to this stunning country many times and it is always incredibly special to be in this one of a kind culture. Every place you are in is a pretty much sensory overload!
If you think you want to come, please email me asap as I am sure there will be a waiting list soon. This is going to be another one of the most photogenic workshops I have ever run as India has no match anywhere on earth for photo opportunities! WHAT TO EXPECT
This workshop includes a reasonable amount of walking or hiking and requires an average level of physical fitness. Europe is pretty clean and modern so most places will be easy traveling to and from.
CLIMATE
April is a shoulder season in Croatia and Italy, offering the best of both worlds — mild temperatures, plenty of sunshine, and fewer crowds compared to the summer peak season. Coastal regions enjoy average daily temperatures around 64F (18°C), with highs reaching a little warmer in some areas,
CLOTHING
Shorts are April has mild but unpredictable weather — we can experience both sunshine and rain in a single day, so layers are your friend. Pack light layers like a lightweight fleece and breathable tops for the unpredictable spring weather. You'll want a waterproof or at least water-repellant layer that fits over a warm layer — it doubles as a windbreaker. A good packable rain jacket is essential. Venice in particular can be breezy and damp, and Croatia's coast gets wind off the Adriatic
MONEY
The currency in Italy and Croatia is the Euro. It might be best to get some Euros before you leave your home so you have some to use when you get there. We can all change Euros either in a bank or ATMS's that are everywhere.
PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS
For both Croatia and Venice:
- ✅ Valid U.S. passport with 3+ months beyond return date
- ✅ No visa needed for stays under 90 days
- ✅ Expect biometric collection (fingerprints/photo) at first EU border crossing under new EES
- ✅ ETIAS not yet required for April 2026
ELECTRICITY
Italy (Venice)
- Voltage: 230V, 50Hz
- Plug types: Type F (two round pins) and Type L (three round pins in a line — Italy's unique standard)
- You'll most commonly encounter the Type F (Europlug)
Croatia
- Voltage: 230V, 50Hz
- Plug type: Type F (two round pins — standard European)
HEALTH
No vaccinations are required to enter Croatia or Italy although I would talk to your family doctor about routine vaccinations for a trip to Europe. There are some vaccinations that your doctor may want you to think about getting.
Measles cases are rising in many countries around the world. All international travelers should be fully vaccinated against measles with the MMR vaccine, according to CDC's measles vaccination recommendations for international travel.
Everyone coming on the workshop should be in good health and able to walk pretty easily. For the most part, the walking will be easy but there will be some steep areas and steps so please be aware of this.
THERE IS ONLY ONE INDIA !!
